Thai food in Mesa doesn't give you a lot of choice, so I had to try this place. It's not easy to spot, as it's off the street and signage isn't great. After my first visit I knew I'd be back for more, and I have. This isn't just good Thai food for Mesa, it's great Thai food. Period. The chef has a great sense of seasonings. The spices blend or complement wonderfully. This is one of the East Valley's best kept secrets.
One small caveat: if you're eager to try a dish not common in American Thai restaurants they'll try to talk you out of it. "Oh, you won't like that." Don't believe it!
The last time I stopped in, there was a Caucasian guy ordering in the native tongue. Curious, I asked him about it. He's married to a Thai, and Royal Thai Grill is the only Thai restaurant she'll eat at. She says it's the only real Thai food she's found.
